On the Dinner Menu 7/23 to 7/29

Planning dinners for the week is a must for our family. After I have been working all day, the last thing I want to think about it “what’s for dinner?”. So mapping them out ahead of time allows for one less decision and my brain is thankful for that!

Here is what we have on the dinner menu this week aka the week of carbs! I’ve included links to recipes (if there is one) or specific products we are using. Don’t forget to leave a comment with any suggestions or questions about these recipes.

  • Sunday: Homemade lasagna with garlic bread. I don’t really have a recipe for this one… I do use these pre-cooked noodles which is a huge time saver! As for my meat sauce this is what I do – 1lb cooked ground beef, 3 cans of tomato sauce, 1 can of tomato paste, salt/pepper to taste, garlic seasoning, and italian seasoning. When I am putting together the lasagna, this is the order I do – sauce, noodles, ricotta cheese, mozzerella cheese, sauce, noodles, etc. I just keep layering in that order until gone! Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Delicious!!
  • Monday: BBQ Chicken in the Crockpot. Again no real recipe…. I put 2 chicken breasts in the crockpot about 4 hours before we want to eat with barbeque sauce. This is Ray’s No Sugar Added is our favorite. Then shred the chicken with a fork about 20 minutes before serving. I usually serve with a baked sweet potato or on a Hawaiian roll.
  • Tuesday: It’s Taco Tuesday and we are going with your normal ground beef tacos this week. We prefer soft shell tacos, and all of the normal toppings (cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, avocado, and sour cream).
  • Wednesday: My son requested Waffle Wednesday, so we are having breakfast for dinner. I will be making waffles with bacon, sausage, and a variety of fruit. This brand of pancake mix is our favorite!
  • Thursday: Pizza Braid (here is the recipe). It gets a bit messy with the sauce on the inside of the pizza braid. So I only do the cheese and meat and then we dip it in sauce! We are substituting pepperoni for sausage.
  • Friday: Flatbreads. We are using the leftover BBQ chicken on flatbreads with cheddar cheese.
  • Saturday: Takeout, which probably means a local restuarant where we can get burgers and fries.

I am always looking for new recipes that will feed the whole family! If you have any great recipe ideas, share in the comments for everyone to see!
