Every year baking Christmas Cookies is a tradition in our house. I have my classics that I always like to make aka Peanut Butter Blossoms. But I always like to try a new recipe each year as well.
Funny story about the Peanut Butter Blossoms… growing up my mom always used my grandma’s recipe and I assumed that meant it was this family “secret” recipe for the Peanut Butter Blossoms. She never said it was, but as a kid that’s how I imagined it. But the first year I wanted to bake them by myself and I couldn’t get ahold of my mom for the recipe, I quickly realized I didn’t need it. Because this “family secret recipe” was the same recipe on the back of the Hershey Kiss bag 🙂
So much for a “family secret recipe”!! Either way it’s a tradition to bake these every holiday season and I can’t wait to make them. Last year, my oldest son helped me bake them and I’m hoping both of my boys will help me this year.

Here is the Peanut Butter Blossom recipe.
PS. My family likes to roll the balls of dough in a color sprinkle like red or green for fun holiday addition.
7 Holiday Cookies
As for the new cookie we will try this year, I’ve rounded up 7 holiday cookies that I’d like to try.
- Hot Cocoa Cookies
- Cranberry Orange Shortbread Cookies
- Gingerbread Cookie Bars
- White Chocolate Dipped Peppermint Chocolate Cookies
- Peanut Butter Cookie Bars
- Gingerbread NYC Cookies
- Chocolate Cake Peppermint Cookies
Egg Allergy Tip
Most of these cookies have egg in them, however my youngest son has an egg allergy. So I thought I would share my baking tip incase someone in your family has the same allergy. When baking I replace eggs with unsweetened applesauce! One cup of applesauce like this, is equivalent to two eggs.

Do you have a holiday baking tradition? And which cookie recipe are you excited to try? Tell me in the comments and share this blog with your baking bestie!
