My kids and I love making different holiday treats. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, I thought I’d share 3 easy treats to make with your kids.
I love baking and cooking in the kitchen with my boys. I think it is a great skill to have. There are so many ways to get them involved starting at a young age. And continuing to progress their skills as they grow. Plus it allows us to discuss nutrition, treats, and balancing it all!
Here are the 3 easy Valentine’s Day Treats:
1. Pretzel Kiss Treats
I love this recipe because it takes 10 minutes or less and it’s only 3 ingredients. Added bonus, having your kids unwrap the Hershey Kisses is great for their fine motor skills.
Ingredients
- 1 bag of Hershey Huggies Kisses
- 1 bag of Pretzel Snaps
- 1 bag of milk chocolate M&Ms

Instructions
Preheat the oven at 250 degrees and place parchment paper on your sheet pan. Next, layout the pretzels on the pan. Then, top each pretzel with a Hershey Kiss. Side note – you can use whatever type of kiss you want, we used the Huggies which are white and milk chocolate mixed.

Once the oven is heated, place the pan in the oven for 2 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately push a M&M onto the Kiss and press it down.
Once this is completed, let the treats cool before eating. You can also put the pan in the freezer to set them faster!
This is such a fun treat and you can change it up for every holiday!
2. Valentine’s Day Trail Mix
If you thought the pretzel treats were easy, this one is even easier. The hardest part is gathering all of the items out of your pantry!
Ingredients
- 1 cup of pretzels
- 3/4 cup of mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup of Teddy Grahams
- 1/2 cup of M&M
- 1/4 cup raisins

Instructions
Mix all of these items together in a large bowl and enjoy! The best part of this recipe is adding or subtracting items that your family likes and dislikes.

PS. I found this super cute glass food storage container with a lid at Target. Shop here for the large bowl or here for the small bowls (set of 2).
3. Valentine’s Day Rice Crispy Treats
Everyone loves a good homemade rice crispy treat. I feel like it’s a classic treat perfect for any time of the year. Here is how to make it ready for Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients
- 6 cups of rice cereal
- 1 stick of butter
- 1.5 bags of mini marshmallows
- Valentine’s Day sprinkles
- Heart shaped cookie cutters
We like our rice crispy treats extra marshmallowy, but you can totally just follow the recipe on the box.

Instructions
Either way you’re going to melt your butter, add the marshmallows, and stir until they are almost melted. Then add your rice cereal and sprinkles. You could even add red food coloring to the butter and marshmallows for extra flare if you wanted!

Next, spread out your treats onto a lined pan with parchment paper, add more sprinkles if needed. Then, let the treats set up for about an hour. Once they are set up, take your cookie cutter and press out heart shapes. We used 4 different sizes for fun!

Again, such an easy fun treat you could mix up for every holiday. I hope you and your kids enjoy these easy Valentine’s Day treats!
