Fall in Indiana – Part 1

Last week, we took a trip to Indiana to visit our families and meet our new nephew. It was so nice to experience the fall weather but was definitely ready to get back to the Florida heat.

We flew in and out of Sarasota with a direct flight to Indianapolis through Allegiant Airlines. We rented a mini van and I have always been so against it, but seeing the convenience with the kids getting in and out… nope still not quite convinced lol

First stop in Indy was to eat lunch with Cory’s mom. We ate at a restaurant called Between the Bun. I had the Notorious PIG with a side salad and it was so good!! The sweet barbecue sauce was amazing. Cory ate the Spitfire Ranch Burger and said it was delicious and he was obsessed with the house made spicy ranch on the burger.

After lunch, we made the drive down to Evansville which was about 2.5 hours. The leaves were changing and it was so pretty! We got lots of baby snuggles as soon as we arrived and then went to our favorite sports bar in Evansville for dinner, Kipplee’s. Must gets are pizza, dough dogs and corn fritters!

The next day we all drove to Owensboro to go to Smothers Park before heading to Trunnell’s Farm Market. It was about an hour from Evansville and definitely worth the drive. But before the drive a stop at Donut Bank for donuts and coffee was a must!! Highly recommend the cream filled chocolate long john and the chocolate banana latte.

At Trunnell’s Farm there were tons of activities for all ages to enjoy. Some of the activities included an apple cannon, swings, corn maze, slides, grain train, jumping pillow, and so many others. Click here for a full list.

Trunnel also had several picture areas set up for the perfect fall festival photo like these…

We ate lunch at the Farm Grille which had cheeseburgers, nachos, ribeye sandwich, and fries. There were several other food booths to choose from as well including a bar that had beer, wine, and a charcuterie board for purchase.

Such a fun windy day that exhausted us, so we ordered dinner in from Teriyaki Madness. I had the Chicken Teriyaki bowl with fried rice and broccoli and it was so good!! Also highly recommend the egg rolls and crab rangoon.

So many fun activities in such a short amount of time, click here to read part 2!
